A light-hearted look at running for the over 70 year-olds. About three years ago I went with a friend to look at a parkun on the beach at Uvongo in South Africa. Being a walker, I intended to walk the course with the others at the back. However when the organiser shouted, “Go”, and the people in front of me started running, I joined in and haven’t stopped running since. I have puffed my way round the course, stoppped for a breather, but gradually improved my time. At my age I am definitely running against myself, and no-one else.
